Ryan was showing you that he understands that the "bedtime routine" you talk about is more than that...it's an expression of the comfort, love and safety that he will always feel at home with you and Marc. He understands this in his own 2 year old way and he is demonstrating that "he gets it!" These are the things that you can hang on to when you are having your own "sleepless nights" worring about them. There will come a time when you are worried because they are sick or have an important day at school or are staying out late after the prom, that you can use this to soothe yourself back to sleep.
